Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use Inspirate. It also outlines your privacy rights under applicable laws, including the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, where applicable, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Inspirate is designed to be simple and privacy-conscious. We aim to collect as little information as reasonably possible while still being able to operate, maintain, and improve the app.
By using the app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We May Collect
We do not require you to create an account or directly provide personal information in order to use Inspirate. However, we may collect certain limited information automatically as part of providing the app.
This information may include technical and usage-related data, such as:
- Device type, operating system, and general device characteristics
- App usage patterns, such as features accessed and time spent within the app
- Crash reports, diagnostics, and performance data
- General location information derived from IP address (for example, country or region)
This information is typically aggregated and does not directly identify you as an individual. However, in certain circumstances, some data may be considered personal information under applicable laws.
We may introduce additional features in the future that require the collection of further information. If we do, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.
2. Subscriptions and Payments
Inspirate offers optional paid subscriptions. All subscription purchases, billing, and payment processing are handled by Apple through the App Store.
We do not receive, store, or have access to your payment card details or billing information.
Apple may provide us with limited, non-sensitive information related to your subscription status (for example, whether a subscription is active) in order to enable app functionality.
3. How We Use Information
Any information we collect is used for legitimate business purposes, including:
- Providing, operating, and maintaining the app
- Improving app performance, stability, and user experience
- Understanding general usage trends and feature effectiveness
- Diagnosing technical issues and preventing misuse
We do not use your information for personalized advertising or cross-app tracking.
4. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share limited information with third-party service providers where necessary to operate the app. This may include services related to infrastructure, analytics, or crash reporting.
These providers are only given access to the information necessary to perform their functions and are expected to handle it in accordance with applicable privacy standards.
We may also disclose information:
- To comply with legal obligations
- To respond to lawful requests from public authorities
- To protect our rights, users, or the integrity of the app
5. Tracking and Analytics
Inspirate does not use third-party advertising systems or tracking technologies that track you across other apps, websites, or services.
We use a self-hosted analytics service called PostHog to collect anonymous usage data. This helps us understand how the app is used so we can improve it. The information collected includes:
- A randomly generated identifier (not linked to your name, email, or any account)
- App version, device model, operating system version, and country
- General usage events, such as when the app is opened or certain features are used
This data is anonymous and is never used to identify you personally, build a profile about you, or deliver advertising.
You can opt out of this data collection at any time in Settings → Share Usage Data. When disabled, no usage events are sent.
We also use Apple's built-in crash reporting tools to understand app stability. These tools are not used to build user profiles or deliver targeted advertising. For more information, see Apple's Privacy Policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including maintaining the app, improving its performance, and complying with legal obligations.
Where possible, data may be deleted, aggregated, or anonymized when it is no longer needed.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable laws, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information.
These rights may include:
- The right to request access to the personal information we hold about you
- The right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
- The right to request deletion of your personal information
- The right to object to or restrict certain types of processing
- The right to data portability, where applicable
- The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
Because Inspirate does not use accounts and collects minimal data, we may not always be able to identify or associate data with a specific individual. In such cases, we may not be able to fulfill certain requests.
To make a request, please contact us using the details provided below.
9. Australian Privacy Rights
If you are located in Australia, you have rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the right to access and correct your personal information.
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), you may contact us and we will investigate your complaint.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
10. Children’s Privacy
Inspirate is not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we become aware that information has been collected from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it.
11. Third-Party Services
The app relies on the following third-party services:
- Apple — for App Store distribution, subscriptions, payments, crash reporting, and performance monitoring. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- PostHog — for anonymous usage analytics, as described in Section 5. You can opt out at any time in Settings. See PostHog’s Privacy Policy.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.
